sharing.......

One night a man came to our house and told me, “There is a family with eight children. They have not eaten for days,” I took some food and I went. When I finally came to the family, I saw the faces of those little children disfigured by hunger. There was no sorrow or sadness in their faces, just the deep pain of hunger. I gave the rice to the mother. She divided it in two, and went out, carrying half the rice with her. When she came back, I asked her, “Where did you go?” She gave me this simple answer, “To my neighbors-they are hungry also.”

I was not surprised that she gave–because poor people are generous.
But I was surprised that she knew they were hungry. As a rule, when we are suffering, we are so focused on ourselves we have no time for others.
–Mother Teresa

i don't remember where i came across this small story.....but i am glad i did.
think about the mother..she wouldn't have been selfish if she had eaten the food with her kids alone, but she went ahead to share.... knowing that the remaining food may or may not be sufficient for her own kids n her own starving tummy...but she did!!!

In life we forget to think of others even wen we are so- filled with provisions ( forget abt thinking of others wen we ourselves r in need). how long can we be just living for ourselves?? we don't have to be a king or a queen to be generous n kind, don't have to be a crorepati to help one in need........what matters most is we need to have the "heart" to feel for others,to pray for others,to share their sorrows n to do the little things which could bring a smile on their face......let it be a 'hi' or a 'hug'.

"They should be rich in good works and should give generously to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them."
I Timothy 6:18
